Last night I was at the Getty Center celebration for “Pacific Standard Time”, a six month series of exhibitions saluting the contribution of the west coast artists to the art movements of the past 60 years. The exhibits span the entire region of LA and beyond. The ubiquitous freeways of LA that have been described as the “corridors” connecting the various venues, and creating for the region a sudden intimacy.
The art on display at the Getty is jaw dropping, and a joy to see pieces of such scale and beauty in the hallowed halls. Must see!
Art Platform at the LA Mart was a terrific gathering of galleries from near and far. Loved seeing the new additions to the Flowers Gallery, London roster; Mona Kuhn and Robert Polidori, and the always wonderful Nicola Hicks and Patrick Hughes.
